Mr. Dodd’s practice is concentrated in the area commercial litigation; and mediation and arbitration.

Education
Mr. Dodd received his Bachelor of Arts from the College of William and Mary in 1959 and earned his LL.B. from George Washington University in 1962.

Professional Activities
* Professional Affiliations – Mr. Dodd has served as a member of the Board of Directors and as President of the Hawaii State Bar Association, as a member of the Executive Council of the National Conference of Bar Presidents, as a lawyer representative to the Hawaii State Judicial Conference and to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference, as a Bar Examiner, as a court (state and federal) special master in complex litigation, and as an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association and the State of Hawaii Court Annexed Arbitration Program. Mr. Dodd was a member of the Working Committee to establish the Center for International Dispute Resolution in Honolulu and served as its Assistant Secretary and a member of its Board of Governors. Mr. Dodd has served as a member of the Board of Directors and President of Big Brothers of Hawaii, a member of the Board of Directors of Big Brothers of America, a member of the Board of Directors and Secretary of Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii, a member of the Board of Directors of Friends of the East-West Center, a member of the Board of Directors and Vice-President of the Hawaii Justice Foundation, a member of the Board of Directors and Secretary of the U.S.-Asia Law Institute, and a member of the Board of Governors of Mid-Pacific Institute. He is also a fellow of the American Bar Foundation and the Roscoe Pound Foundation.

* Peer Recognition – Mr. Dodd is listed in The Best Lawyers in America and in “Hawaii’s A+ Attorneys,” published in Honolulu Magazine.

* Educator – Mr. Dodd has also served as an Ad Hoc Instructor in real estate and business law for the University of Hawaii, the American Banking Institute, and the Savings and Loan League of America.

Memberships
Mr. Dodd is a member of the Virginia, Hawaii, American, and Inter-Pacific Bar Associations and is admitted to practice before all federal and state courts in Hawaii and in the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
